Michael W. Leonow.
Leonow was born 2 January 1948 in the town of Yeletz of Lipetzk region.
In the 1966 entered to Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Moscow State University, in the 1971 graduated from the Faculty of Computional Mathematics and Cybernetic.
Since 1977 worked in the Faculty of Computional Mathematics and cybernetic of MSU.
He took a part on development of CAE-system and was the responsible person for the software support of the student computer practical studies. He has gone a way as programmer from punched tape and cards to Internet. Since 1987 is the responsible person for the theme "Computer database in botanic", which carries out in frame of scientific agreement with Botanical Garden of MSU.
A sphere of scientific interest: data retrieval systems, databases, automatisation of scientific research, taxonomic botany.
Pioneered the use of DBMS in russian botany. One of the results of cooperation with botanists has become a dissertation in botanic. He receive PhD in biology from top rated Botanical Institut of Russian Academy of Science in Sankt-Petersburg.
His projects have been supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (98-07-90090, 00-07-90066).
He is author of 24 publications (4 - in foreign scientific edition).
Hobby: german language, floristic, in youth - mounting tourism. Prefers brut vines.
